The Women's Fund Giving Circle recently announced its grants to the community for 2008. At its annual celebration in late May, the ever-expanding circle met to hear updates on the fund's growth and activity during the past year, and to announce this year's grant recipients. The highlight of the evening celebration was an overview and report about Camp Quality from camp registrar Danielle Weidman. She provided an overview of the camp's mission and purpose along with a colorful description of camp activities and why our support is so important. Camp Quality was one of three 2008 grant recipients announced at the celebration. It is the third round of annual grants made by the Women's Fund Giving Circle, which is supported through the giving circles pilot project at The Winnipeg Foundation. Through this unique project, granting is augmented in the early years of a circle to encourage engagement and help each circle's endowment fund grow. Based on the funding formula, this year, The Women's Fund granted a total of $2,500 to the following three organizations:
Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, Inc.
North End Community Ministry
Camp Quality Manitoba
